The Electronics Test Engineer will be a part of the Research & Development team.
In this position, you should make sure that electronic products meet quality standards before they go out to consumers by conducting regular tests. You will be responsible for all aspects of the quality testing process, from designing tests to implementing them to writing reports highlighting possible improvements. You need to have experience working with a variety of electrical equipment, circuit boards, IoT systems, and more. You will be able to write test scripts and design tests that align with company and governmental regulations. You also need to be flexible in your work environment-sometimes, you might need to conduct tests in the field. You are self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team to drive success.
Actively Investigate and troubleshoot hardware issues - prototype to production builds
Perform PCBA level verification and execute system validation to comply with design parameters through robust testing methodologies
Define and drive test strategy, implementation, and testing processes
Define specifications, generating documentation, and iterating designs based upon feedback from partners
Investigate, Design, and qualify new test methodologies, test fixtures, test equipment, and test software
Collaborate and feed in recommendations and improvements based on test findings
Understand and interpret technical requirements, engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
Recommend specifications and limits with the hardware development team
Perform, oversee and document hardware verification testing
Perform electrical design calculations, unit testing and feature testing
Managing day-to-day experimental planning, data analysis, and prioritisation of project-based activities
Working with our partners to design and execute data collection & validation studies
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related field
3+ years of experience in design/testing/manufacturing electronic devices
Ability to define and recommend outcomes of various tests at compliance, board-level, open-builds, and system level
Ability to review hardware designs to define test coverage to ensure products are built free of manufacturing defects
Hand-on PCBA level experience with an understanding of DFT and DFM methods.
Experience with prototyping solutions and bench testing methodology
Firmware/ python scripting and/or functional knowledge is a plus
Schematic capture and PCB design, basic firmware experience is a plus
Experience with battery-powered, wireless, embedded HW/SW medical/defence devices is a plus
Testing jigs and fixtures for automated testing is a plus
Printed Circuit Board schematic capture, layout, routing including high density and high-speed routing using tools like Altium, KiCAD
Experience working with ARM based processors (i.e. Cortex-M, Cortex-A) from ST, TI, NXP, Nordic etc.
Experience testing and debugging DC/DC buck/boost converters for low power devices
Knowledge of serial protocols like UART/SPI/I2C/TWI
Troubleshooting embedded systems and debugging tools using DSOs, Bench supplies, Electrical meters, Thermal and Power analyzers
Writing test cases, generating and documenting test reports, DFMEA analyses
Using C or other programming languages for low level hardware bring up
EMC/EMI shielding mitigation techniques and troubleshooting
Design simulation and modeling tools like PSPICE and LTSPICE etc.
Excellence in thoughtful and organized fault detections and problem solving
Ability to interface with electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers and work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
Demonstrated ability to drive results in a timely manner
